Microsoft and Yahoo! to enter rev-share deal that makes Bing default search egngine on Yahoo!

As per this article, it looks like MS and Yahoo! will enter into a rev-share deal that will set Bing as the default search engine on Yahoo!.

Apparently the formal anouncement is to be made tomorrow, so lets perhaps take this info with a grain of salt.

  • Yes I heard about this news too! Looks like Ballmer got his wish! What are your thoughts of Microsoft having control over content, while Yahoo handles ad sales?

A ten-year agreement, I’m interested to see what happens next.

  • It’s pretty tough to comment either way given I actually work for one of the JV’s set to be affected by this agreement in some way down the line.

About the only thing I can say is that given the domination of the US market, I doubt any consideration really went into all the JV markets where this kind of deal has the potential to leave many asking questions.
